Who Are We?

Shara McMurtrey is the expert behind 87°, located in beautiful Bentonville, Arkansas, the birthplace and world headquarters for Fortune 1, Walmart, Inc. 

An industry veteran, Shara has focused for more than 35 years on sales, marketing, international business and leading client/customer-facing projects. 

She cut her teeth in her mid-20’s as a master broker for a top Mexico-based, global liquor-filled chocolate brand. She found joy in the immense problem-solving, planning and relationship trust building necessary to create and navigate a distributor network for a product with regulations that varied by US county.

Since that time, she has spent 8 years with with a successful technology startup (who is nearing their 30th year in business), developed and launched a collegiate-licensed brand, with the last 14 years loving helping other brands grow. 87°, and Shara’s, strength is in international brands in the US.

She lends a highly organized, creative and innovative approach balanced with financial prowess, knowing that meeting customer needs and profitable growth have to stay top of mind.

An avid triathlete and tree pruning extraordinaire, she wishes she had gotten to spend time with Maya Angelou.
